Ingredients

  • 1 1/2 pounds ground beef ( lean or extra lean-your choice)
  • 3/4 teaspoon salt
  • 1/2 teaspoon pepper fresh cracked
  • 1/2 teaspoon garlic powder
  • 1/2 teaspoon onion powder
  • 1/2 teaspoon rosemary leaves rubbed
  • 1 tbsp red pepper flakes pinch (optional-but recommended)
  • 2 tablespoons olive oil
  • 1 cup mushrooms cremini sliced
  • 4 lices Swiss cheese or more slices
  • 4 Buns soft
  • mayonnaise Choice of condiments: mustard, ketchup , ranch (or your choice)
  • arugula Choice of toppings: sliced red onions, sliced tomatoes (or your choice)

Notes

  • Lean ground beef is always better than extra lean because burgers can accommodate some fat, however go with what suits you the most.
  • Season the ground beef with dried spice only, avoid chunks of herbs, garlic or onions, or any veggies in the meat.
  • Shape the burger patties using your hand or a burger maker for easier more uniform burgers.
  • Toast the brioche buns for another level of crunch and flavor.
  • Use the same skillet for the whole recipe.
  • Pick your favorite mushrooms to use here and slice them to the same thickness.
  • Make sure not to overcook your burgers, so just about 3-5 minutes per side. However if you're cooking a really thick burger, you may need to cover the skillet after flipping and cook the burgers covered.
  • While one slice of Swiss cheese is enough, cheese lovers should probably use at least 2, if not 3 slices.
  • Add the mushrooms and cheese as the final step once all the burgers have cooked, and turn off the heat.
  • make sure to cover the skillet or tent the burgers with foil if your skillet doesn't have a lid. This allows the cheese to melt.
  • Spread your favorite condiments and use your favorite toppings on the burger buns.
  • Enjoy right away!
