Ingredients

  • 1 teaspoon Butter for greasing
  • 1 teaspoon flour after greasing the pan
  • 120 grams butter ½ cup
  • 200 grams sugar 1 cup
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 2 eggs lightly beaten
  • 70 grams flour ½ cup
  • 40 grams unsweetened cocoa powder ⅓ cup
  • ¼ teaspoon baking powder
  • ¼ teaspoon salt

Instructions

  1. Preheat oven to 350 °F/ 175 °C (fan) then grease and flour an 8-inch square pan.
  2. Melt the butter in a small saucepan and remove from the heat.
  3. Stir in the sugar using a wooden spoon, then the eggs and vanilla till combined.
  4. Next add the cocoa powder, flour, salt and baking powder and stir gently.
  5. Pour the mixture into the baking pan and bake for 25 minutes. Remove and cool in the pan before turning out and slicing.
