Oat waffles: basic, 1 ingredient recipe
Quick and easy to make large Belgian waffles with just oat flour.
Ingredients
- 1 cup oat flour or grind any kind of rolled oats yourself, gluten-free
- ¾ cups oat flour gluten-free
- 2 teaspoons baking powder your waffles will be a bit bigger and fluffier, corn and aluminum free
- ¼ cup coconut flower sugar or more to taste
- honey
- ⅔ cups water
- ½ cup water
- ½ teaspoons cinnamon
- maple syrup
- and/or ¼ and/or ¼ teaspoons vanilla powder or extract, Bourbon variety
- Fresh fruits
- 2 pinches sea salt or to taste, Celtic variety
Instructions
- Mix the flour with the baking powder, sugar and spices (if you use them).
- Mix in the water until it forms a thick batter. Set aside to let it go thicken a bit.
- Warm up your waffle maker.
- Add in the batter. Half of the batter will form one large waffle, so you can make two with this recipe.
- Close the lid, you can push it down gently but don't put a lot of pressure on it. There has to be a slight opening to let the steam out and give the batter a change to rise.
- After 7 minutes you can take your waffles out. Use a small wooden spatula to loosen them if necessary.
- Serve with your favourite toppings.
