Olive Garden Three Meat Sauce Copycat Recipe
This Three Meat Sauce imitates Olive Garden’s rich pasta sauce combining marinara, crushed tomatoes, ground beef, Italian sausage, and chopped pepperoni. The mix is simmered together with onions and Italian seasonings to develop a hearty, savory sauce with layers of meaty flavor. The simmering process allows the meats to meld and infuse the tomato base, producing a robust sauce great for pasta dishes or as a base for other recipes.
Ingredients
- 48 ounces marinara sauce 2 jars
- 16 ounces crushed tomatoes 1 can
- 1 cup onion chopped
- 2 tablespoons olive oil
- 1 pound ground beef
- 1 pound Italian sausage removed from casings
- 1/2 cup pepperoni chopped fine
- 1 teaspoon Italian seasoning
Instructions
- Saute onions in a large pot with about 2 tablespoons of olive oil. When onions have become translucent add the two jars of marina sauce, and can of chopped tomatoes, and turn down to simmer.
- In a large skillet brown ground beef and Italian sausage until completely cooked, drain fat from meat, and add meat into the large pot with the sauce. Add chopped pepperoni to the sauce mixture. Add 1 teaspoon of Italian seasonings to the mixture and all to simmer for about 20 minutes before you season to taste with salt and pepper.
Notes
- This recipe makes a large amount; increase marinara or tomatoes to stretch the sauce for bigger groups.
- Allow the meats to simmer with the sauce before adjusting seasoning to deepen flavor.
- For smaller servings, freeze leftovers to use later.
- For a smoother texture, pulse the pepperoni before adding.
