Orange and Thyme Gin and Tonic
This Orange and Thyme Gin and Tonic infuses gin with fresh thyme sprigs and bright orange zest before topping with tonic water. The infusion releases citrus oils and herbal notes, blending aromatic and refreshing flavors characteristic of this cocktail. Served chilled with garnishes of orange zest and thyme, it offers a balanced, lightly herbal twist on the classic G&T.
Ingredients
- ½ cup gin
- 4 thyme see notes, fresh, sprigs
- 1 orange
- 1 cup ice
- 1 ⅓ cups tonic water
Instructions
- Pour the gin, ice, a long strip of orange zest and 2 of the thyme sprigs into a cocktail shaker or jug.
- Shake or muddle the the gin to release the oils from the orange and thyme.
- Strain the infused gin into round bottom glasses.
- Top up with chilled tonic water and add a new strip of zest and fresh thyme sprig.
Notes
- Dried thyme can be used but be sure to strain thoroughly to avoid any woody bits in the drink.
