Orange Pepper Seasoning Recipe

This homemade orange pepper seasoning is delicious on any cut of chicken.Makes about 1 tablespoon of seasoning, which is enough to season about 1 pound of chicken.

Ingredients

  • 1 orange large
  • 1 teaspoon black pepper ground
  • ¼ teaspoon rosemary dried
  • ¼ teaspoon onion powder
  • ¼ teaspoon garlic powder
  • ¼ teaspoon salt

Instructions

  1. Zest the orange and sprinkle the zest onto wax paper or parchment paper. Cover loosely with a paper towel. Let sit at room temperature until the zest is completely dry (about 1 day).
  2. Grind the orange zest in a mortar with a pestle into a coarse powder. (You should get about 1 teaspoon dried ground orange zest.)
  3. Add ground orange zest along with all remaining ingredients to a bowl and stir until well combined.
  4. Store in an airtight container in a dark, cool place.

Notes

  • Use this orange pepper seasoning on boneless, skinless chicken breast, chicken thighs or any other cut of chicken.
