Oreo Balls (Oreo Truffles)
Oreo Balls, or Oreo Truffles, are bite-sized treats made by blending crushed Oreo cookies with cream cheese, shaped into balls, chilled, then coated in melted semisweet chocolate with a white chocolate drizzle. The contrast of crunchy cookie exterior and smooth cream cheese filling gives a rich and sweet dessert bite that is easy to prepare and enjoyable as a party snack or gift.
Ingredients
- 36 Oreo cookies
- 8 ounces cream cheese
- 16 ounces semisweet chocolate melting wafers
- 4 ounces white chocolate melting wafers
Instructions
- Add the Oreos and cream cheese to a food processor and process until smooth then roll the mixture into 48 1 inch balls and place on a cookie sheet lined with parchment paper, freezing for 20 minutes.
- Melt the semisweet chocolate and dip each ball in it with a fork scraping the bottom before putting it back on the parchment paper.
- Melt the white chocolate and put it in a small ziplock bag with the end snipped off and pipe the white chocolate on in a criss cross pattern before letting it harden completely.
Notes
- Use a food processor to achieve a smooth crumb mixture for easy rolling.
- Freeze the formed balls before dipping to help maintain shape and ease coating.
- Remove excess chocolate after dipping to prevent thick, uneven shells.
- Chill the dipped truffles until the chocolate hardens before serving or storing.
