Pan Fried Pineapple
Pan Fried Pineapple uses bite-sized pineapple pieces tossed with brown sugar and cinnamon, then pan-fried in butter until caramelized and tender. This cooking technique enhances the pineapple's natural sweetness and adds a warm spice note. The dish can be served as a flavorful side or paired with vanilla ice cream for dessert.
Ingredients
- 1 small pineapple cored
- 1/4 cup light brown sugar
- 1 teaspoon cinnamon
- 2 tablespoons butter unsalted
Instructions
- Cut the pineapple into bite-sized pieces. (See video below for how to cut the pineapple.)
- In a large bowl, mix together the pineapple, brown sugar and cinnamon.
- Heat a large skillet over medium heat. Add the butter.
- Once the butter is melted, add the pineapple pieces in a single layer and fry for 2 to 3 minutes on each side.
- Serve as a side dish or with vanilla ice cream.
Notes
- Store leftover pan fried pineapple in a sealed container in the refrigerator for up to 3 days.
