Peanut Butter Chocolate Chip Cookies
Peanut Butter Chocolate Chip Cookies combine smooth peanut butter and both granulated and brown sugars creamed with butter to form a rich dough studded with semi-sweet chocolate chips. Baked at a moderate temperature, the cookies develop lightly browned edges while retaining a tender center, yielding a classic cookie with a balance of nutty sweetness and chocolate flavor.
Ingredients
- 1 cup granulated sugar
- 1 cup brown sugar
- 1 cup butter softened
- 1 cup peanut butter
- 2 tsp vanilla
- 2 egg
- 2 cups flour (see recipe notes)
- 2 tsp baking powder
- 1/2 tsp salt
- 2 tsp baking soda
- 2 cups chocolate chips semi-sweet
Instructions
- Preheat oven to 375 degrees. (See recipe notes for low altitude baking)
- In a large bowl or mixer, cream sugar, brown sugar, butter and peanut butter together until well blended.
- Add vanilla and eggs and mix well.
- In a separate bowl, whisk flour*, baking powder, salt, and baking soda together. Gradually mix into the wet ingredients.
- Stir in chocolate chips.
- Spoon dough onto an ungreased cookie sheet and bake for 8 minutes or until lightly browned.
Notes
- For baking at low altitudes, you may need to add 1/4 to 1/2 cup additional flour to adjust dough consistency.
