Peanut Butter Chocolate Chip Cookies

Peanut Butter Chocolate Chip Cookies combine smooth peanut butter and both granulated and brown sugars creamed with butter to form a rich dough studded with semi-sweet chocolate chips. Baked at a moderate temperature, the cookies develop lightly browned edges while retaining a tender center, yielding a classic cookie with a balance of nutty sweetness and chocolate flavor.

Description

This cookie recipe starts by creaming softened butter with granulated and brown sugars, then incorporating peanut butter for a pronounced nutty taste. Vanilla extract and eggs are added next to build structure and flavor. Flour is mixed with baking powder, baking soda, and salt, then gradually folded into the wet ingredients to form a balanced dough.

Semi-sweet chocolate chips are stirred in to provide pockets of melty chocolate throughout each cookie. The dough is portioned by spoonfuls onto an ungreased baking sheet and baked at 375°F for about 8 minutes, resulting in cookies with lightly golden edges and soft interiors.

The recipe notes that for low altitude baking, additional flour may be necessary to maintain proper texture. The result is a rich cookie that combines the creamy texture of peanut butter with the sweetness of chocolate chips in a firm but tender bite.
