Pear Sauce

Pear Sauce is a smooth, creamy blend of simmered diced Bartlett pears cooked with water, sugar, lemon juice, cinnamon, and vanilla. The sauce offers a mildly sweet and spiced fruit flavor with a soft texture, suitable served warm or cold as a topping or side.

Ingredients

  • 5 bartlett pears peeled, cored, and diced
  • 3 tbsp water
  • 1 tbsp sugar
  • 1 tsp lemon juice fresh
  • ½ tsp cinnamon
  • ½ tsp vanilla extract

Instructions

  1. Place the diced pear in a saucepan over medium-high heat with the water, sugar, lemon juice, cinnamon, and vanilla.
  2. Bring to a boil then reduce heat, cover with a lid, and simmer, stirring occasionally until softened, about 25-30 minutes.
  3. Remove from the heat and blend with an immersion blender (or blender) until smooth and creamy. Serve warm or cold.
  4. Store sealed in an airtight container in the refrigerator for a week. Enjoy.
