Pecan Sandies

Ingredients

  • 1 cup butter
  • 1/2 cup granulated sugar
  • 2 teaspoons water
  • 2 teaspoons vanilla extract
  • 2 cups all-purpose flour
  • 1 cup chopped pecans
  • 1 cup powdered sugar

Instructions

  1. Cream together the butter and sugar.
  2. Add the water and vanilla, and mix well.
  3. Mix in the flour and pecans and chill the dough for 4 hours in the refrigerator.
  4. Preheat the oven to 325°F.
  5. Shape the chilled dough into balls and place them on an ungreased cookie sheet
  6. Bake for about 20 minutes.
  7. Remove the cookies from the pan and let them cool slightly.
  8. Roll the cookies in powdered sugar while they are still warm.
