Ingredients
- 1 medium apple , cut into chunks (7 oz.; I use Gala apples)
- 1/2 frozen banana (3.5 oz)
- 1 tablespoon ground flax seeds (5 grams)
- 1 heaping tablespoon peanut butter
- 1/2 teaspoon ground cinnamon
- 1/4 cup almond milk (or milk of choice)
- 1 cup Ice cubes (about 4-5 large cubes)
Instructions
- In a high-speed blender, combine the apple, banana, flax, peanut butter, cinnamon, and milk. Blend until smooth, stopping to scrape down the blender as needed. The apple should become liquified, which will add more "liquid" to the mix, but if you need to add extra liquid, you can start by adding 2 tablespoons at a time.
- Once the mixture is totally smooth, add in the ice and blend again until a slushy texture is achieved. Serve right away for the best texture and flavor.
Cup of Yum
Notes
- Nutrition information is for the whole batch, and is just an estimate, not a guarantee.
- If you don't care for bananas, keep in mind that I don't think you can taste it much in this smoothie, but you can swap it for 2 pitted Medjool dates instead. In that case, you might need to add a little extra ice, to add to the slushy texture.
