Ingredients

  • 1 package cocktail weiners 10 oz
  • 2 cans refrigerated crescent rolls
  • ½ Tablespoon poppy seeds optional

Instructions

    Cup of Yum
  1. Line a large baking sheet with parchment paper. Preheat oven to 350 degrees F.
  2. Open package of crescent rolls and separate the triangles using the perforations. Cut each triangle lengthwise into two narrow triangles.
  3. Place one cocktail weenie at the shortest side and roll toward the narrow point, wrapping the crescent roll around the hot dog weenie.
  4. Place the rolled up cocktail weenie (pig in a blanket) on the baking sheet. Repeat until all the weenies have been wrapped. Space evenly on baking sheet, about one inch apart. Sprinkle with poppy seeds, if desired.
  5. Bake for 12-15 minutes or until crescent roll is golden brown.
  6. Serve immediately with desired condiments.

Notes

  • Two packages of crescent rolls will yield 32 "blankets." The package of cocktail weenies may vary, mine had 27. You can use the remaining crescent rolls and keep them plain.
  • Add a small slice of American cheese with the weenie before rolling up for a delicious cheesy snack!
  • Freeze: After baking, cool completely. Freeze in single layer in a ziploc freezer bag for up to one month. Reheat by baking at 325 for 10-12 minutes, from frozen.
