Pork Chop Suey

This easy Chinese Pork Chop Suey recipe combines pork, veggies & a delicious Asian sauce, served over white rice, topped with crispy chow mein noodles!

Ingredients

  • 1 tbsp sesame oil
  • ½ cup celery chopped
  • 8 oz Shiitake mushrooms sliced
  • 2 cloves garlic minced
  • 1 tbsp fresh ginger peeled & grated
  • 2 scallions thinly sliced
  • 1 lb ground pork
  • ½ tsp crushed red pepper flakes
  • 1 tsp Chinese five spice
  • 1 cup bean sprouts
  • 2 tbsp oyster sauce
  • 2 tbsp mirin cooking rice wine
  • 2 tbsp soy sauce
  • ¾ cup chicken broth
  • 1 tbsp cornstarch
  • 4 cups cooked rice
  • ½ cup crispy chow mein noodles

Instructions

  1. Add the sesame oil to a large skillet or wok over medium high heat.
  2. Add the celery, shiitake mushrooms, garlic, ginger and scallions, saute 1-2 minutes.
  3. Add the ground pork, red pepper flakes and Chinese five spice.
  4. Cook until the pork is no longer pink, 4-5 minutes.
  5. Add the bean sprouts, saute for 1-2 minutes.
  6. Combine the oyster sauce, mirin rice wine, soy sauce, chicken broth and cornstarch in a medium bowl, pour into the skillet, cook 4-5 minutes.
  7. Serve over cooked rice.
  8. Top with crispy chow mein noodles.
