Pork Ribs
These Pork Ribs are cooked slowly in a dutch oven with onions and a cola-based liquid that tenderizes the meat while adding a hint of caramelized sweetness. Seasoned with paprika, salt, and pepper, the ribs brown before braising to develop a flavorful crust. Baking low and slow results in tender pork with a savory and slightly sweet sauce perfect for an easy hearty meal.
Ingredients
- 2 lb pork ribs
- 2 onion large
- 1 tbsp neutral cooking oil generic cooking oil
- 1 tbsp paprika
- 1 tbsp salt adjust to taste
- 1 tbsp black pepper adjust to taste, ground
- 12 oz cola Coke brand
Instructions
- Preheat a dutch oven with oil over medium-high heat. Season all the sides of ribs with salt, paprika and pepper. Fry each side of the ribs until it turns golden brown. Remove from dutch oven and set aside.
- Dice onions into half rings. Place onions into the grease that was left from the ribs and sauté until golden.
- Add ribs back to the dutch oven. Pour coke over the ribs.
- Bake ribs for about 90 minutes at 280°F. Use a fork to poke through, to confirm readiness.
