Pork Ribs

These Pork Ribs are cooked slowly in a dutch oven with onions and a cola-based liquid that tenderizes the meat while adding a hint of caramelized sweetness. Seasoned with paprika, salt, and pepper, the ribs brown before braising to develop a flavorful crust. Baking low and slow results in tender pork with a savory and slightly sweet sauce perfect for an easy hearty meal.

Description

The recipe begins by seasoning pork ribs generously with paprika, salt, and black pepper, then browning each side in hot oil to develop a golden crust. After removing the ribs, diced onions are sautéed in the same pan to capture browned flavors. The ribs return to the dutch oven, where cola is poured over them to act as the braising liquid. Cooking at 280°F for about 90 minutes softens the meat gradually while infusing it with the cola’s sweetness and aroma.

The slow baking method imparts a tender texture, allowing the meat to be easily pierced with a fork, signifying readiness. The spices and cola provide a balanced flavor profile that is both savory and subtly sweet.

Serving these ribs can be complemented by sides that absorb the rich cooking liquid or contrast with its sweetness, making a satisfying, rustic dish.
