Pound Cake French Toast

Pound Cake French Toast puts a twist on our Classic French Toast Recipe. It makes a delicious way to enjoy slices of pound cake another way for a rich breakfast or a dessert idea.

Ingredients

  • 1 pkg Sara Lee Pound Cake Slices
  • 2 eggs beaten
  • 3/4 cup milk
  • 1/2 tsp vanilla extract
  • 1/2 tsp cinnamon
  • 3 tbsp butter
  • powdered sugar

Instructions

    Cup of Yum
  1. Whisk eggs, milk, vanilla extract, and ground cinnamon in a medium bowl until well combined.
  2. Set aside.
  3. Melt butter in a skillet or pan on medium heat.
  4. Dip each pound cake slice into the egg mixture being sure to coat all sides and shaking off excess.
  5. Add to skillet/pan and cook on each side for 1-3 minutes until golden brown.
  6. Top with syrup, powdered sugar and fresh fruit.
