Prawn Sandwiches

Deliciously creamy prawn sandwiches taste just like a prawn cocktail complete with Marie rose sauce. A little bit fancy, they are perfect for lunch.

Ingredients

  • 200 g cooked and shelled prawns chopped
  • 2 tablespoon Marie Rose Sauce
  • 2 teaspoon finely chopped chives
  • ¼ teaspoon garlic powder optional
  • ¼ teaspoon fresh black pepper
  • 4 slices brown (wholemeal) bread
  • butter for spreading on bread
  • fine salt to taste

Instructions

  1. Pat the prawns dry with paper towel.
  2. Roughly chop the prawns then add to a small bowl, along with the marie rose sauce, garlic powder (if using) and chives.
  3. Stir well to combine, add a pinch of salt (if needed) and set aside.
  4. Spread butter on one side of each slice of bread.
  5. Divide prawn filling over two slices of the buttered bread, smoothing into an even layer.
  6. Top with the remaining slices of bread, cut and serve.

Notes
