Protein Coffee Mousse
This Protein Coffee Mousse blends cold heavy cream, milk, espresso, protein powder, and dark chocolate into a light and fluffy dessert. The whipped cream folded gently into the coffee and chocolate mixture creates a smooth texture with a balanced richness and mild coffee flavor. Setting the mousse in the refrigerator allows it to firm up, making it an ideal make-ahead treat for a post-meal dessert or snack.
Ingredients
- 1 1/2 cup heavy cream cold
- 1/2 cup milk
- 1/4 cup espresso cold, brewed
- 1/4 cup confectioners sugar or sugar substitute of your choice
- 2 tablespoons protein powder or chocolate protein powder, vanilla
- 4 ounces dark chocolate melted and cooled - or sugar-free chocolate
Instructions
- Add the heavy cream to a chilled bowl and whip until stiff peaks form.
- In a separate bowl, combine milk, cooled coffee, powdered sugar or sugar substitute, protein powder, and cooled melted chocolate. Stir until the mixture is homogeneous.
- Gently, using a rubber spatula fold the whipped cream into the coffee mixture, until fully combined.
- Divide the mousse mixture into serving bowls and refrigerate for at least 2-3 hours, or until set.
