Ingredients

  • 1 sheet puff pastry
  • ½ cup strawberry jam
  • 1 egg
Glaze
  • ¼ cup Powdered sugar, sifted
  • ½-1 teaspoon milk

Instructions

    Cup of Yum
  1. Preheat the oven to 350°F. Line a baking sheet with parchment paper.
  2. Roll out the puff pastry sheet and cut it in half short-wise. Spread jam all over 1 of the sheets almost to the edges. Add the plain sheet on top of the jam sheet and pinch the edges. Cut into 1-inch strips.
  3. Twist the strips and place them on the prepared sheet curving one end up top to form a cane.
  4. Whisk the egg and brush each candy cane with the egg wash.
  5. Bake for 10-12 minutes or until golden brown.
  6. While baking, make the glaze by whisking together the powdered sugar and milk.
  7. Remove canes from the oven. While still warm, drizzle with glaze or with powdered sugar.

Notes

  • Prep ahead. Prepare the candy cane puff pastry treat up to 2 hours ahead of time. Cover and store in the refrigerator until you're ready to bake.
  • Store. Store leftovers in an airtight container in the fridge for 3-4 days.
