Pumpkin Butter
Pumpkin Butter is a smooth, spiced spread made from pumpkin puree combined with maple syrup, coconut sugar, and warm spices such as cinnamon, ginger, cloves, and nutmeg. Prepared either in the microwave or on the stovetop, it develops a rich, concentrated flavor ideal for spreading over toast or incorporating into recipes. The spread maintains a thick but spreadable consistency and can be stored refrigerated for up to two weeks.
Ingredients
- ¼ cup maple syrup
- ¼ cup water
- 1 Tablespoon coconut sugar
- ½ teaspoon ground cinnamon
- ¼ teaspoon ground ginger
- ¼ teaspoon cloves ground

- Place leftovers in an air-tight container or jar and store in the fridge for up to 2 weeks.
STOVE TOP:
- Add all ingredients to a saucepan or pot and stir to combine over medium-high heat.
- Once it starts boiling, reduce heat to low and bring to a simmer.
- Cook uncovered for 20 minutes, stirring occasionally. Stir, let cool and enjoy!
- Place leftovers in an air-tight container or jar and store in the fridge for up to 2 weeks.
Notes
- You can replace the individual spices with 1 1/4 teaspoons of pumpkin pie spice for convenience.
- If out of maple syrup, substitute honey or agave nectar for similar natural sweetness.
- Coconut sugar can be swapped with brown sugar or regular granulated sugar if needed.
- To achieve a creamier texture, replace water with unsweetened almond or other plant-based milk.
