Pumpkin Cheeseball

Ingredients

  • 16 ounces cream cheese softened
  • 2 cups shredded sharp cheddar cheese
  • 1/4 cup finely chopped green onions
  • 1 tablespoon Worcestershire sauce 
  • 1 teaspoon garlic powder
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 2 cups finely shredded orange cheddar cheese for coating
  • 1 small bell pepper stem for the pumpkin stem

  1. In a large bowl, mix together softened cream cheese, shredded sharp cheddar, green onions, Worcestershire sauce, garlic powder, and salt until well combined.
  2. Form the mixture into a ball, then wrap it in plastic wrap and refrigerate for at least 2 hours or until firm.
  3. Once chilled, remove the plastic wrap and shape the cheese mixture into a pumpkin shape by creating ridges with the back of a knife or your fingers.
  4. Spread the finely shredded orange cheddar cheese on a plate.
  5. Gently roll the cheese ball in the shredded orange cheese, pressing lightly to coat the entire surface.
  6. Place the coated cheese ball on a serving plate.
  7. Insert the bell pepper stem into the top of the cheese ball to create the pumpkin stem.
  8. Refrigerate until ready to serve. Remove from the refrigerator about 15-20 minutes before serving to soften slightly.

Notes

  • For a smoother coating, pulse the orange cheddar cheese in a food processor until it's very finely shredded. You can also use a broccoli stalk for the pumpkin stem.
  • You can add 1/4 cup of finely chopped pecans to the cheese mixture for extra crunch and flavor.
