Pumpkin Chocolate Chip Muffins

This delicious pumpkin chocolate chip bread is a fall staple recipe.

Ingredients

  • 1 ½ cups all-purpose flour
  • 1 teaspoon baking powder
  • 1 teaspoon pumpkin pie spice ** see notes
  • ½ teaspoon baking soda
  • ½ teaspoon salt
  • 1 teaspoon ground cinnamon
  • 1 cup canned pumpkin puree not pumpkin pie filling
  • 1 ¼ cups granulated sugar
  • ⅓ cup oil vegetable or canola
  • 2 large eggs room temperature
  • 1 cup semi-sweet chocolate chips

Instructions

  1. Preheat oven to 350 degrees F and put liners in the muffin tin.
  2. In a medium bowl, whisk together flour, baking powder, pumpkin pie spice, baking soda, salt and cinnamon. Set aside.
  3. In a large bowl, beat together pumpkin, sugar, oil and eggs until well combined.
  4. Gradually add the bowl of dry ingredients to wet ingredients until well mixed and all the flour is mixed in.
  5. Gently fold in the chocolate chips with a spatula.
  6. Put the into the muffin liners using a cookie dough scoop or large spoon. Fill each 2/3 full.
  7. Bake at 350 degrees F for 15-20 minutes or until a toothpick inserted in the center comes out clean.
  8. Cool completely on a wire rack
  9. Store the muffins in airtight container for 2-3 days.

Notes

  • You can also bake these in a mini muffin pan, for 8-10 minutes.
  • If you don't have pumpkin pie spice you can substitute 1 teaspoon of cinnamon. Or make your own with my Pumpkin Pie spice recipe.
