Pumpkin Spice Latte

A Pumpkin Spice Latte that's just as good as Starbucks if not better! Plus it can be made at a fraction of the cost and enjoyed in the comfort of your own home in your pjs. It's the perfect cozy way to welcome autumn!

Ingredients

Whipped topping
  • 1/2 cup heavy cream
  • 1 Tbsp granulated sugar
Latte
  • 2 cups 2% milk
  • 6 Tbsp canned pumpkin puree
  • 3 Tbsp brown sugar, or to taste
  • 1/2 tsp pumpkin pie spice, plus more for garnish
  • 1 tsp vanilla extract
  • 3/4 cup strong brewed coffee or espresso (can use 1/4 cup more for stronger flavor)
  • Orange gel food coloring or natural food coloring (optional)

  1. For the whipped topping: In a medium mixing bowl using an electric hand mixer whip together heavy cream with sugar on high speed until stiff peaks form. Transfer to a piping bag fitted with a star tip (or you can just spoon it over the latte).
  2. For the latte: In a small saucepan whisk together milk, pumpkin, brown sugar, and pumpkin pie spice. Heat until its warmed (you can test a sip with a spoon).
  3. Remove from heat, stir in hot coffee or espresso and vanilla extract. Tint with food color if desired (it should only take a few drops).
  4. Pour into three mugs. Top with whipped cream and sprinkle pumpkin pie spice over to taste. Serve right away.

Notes

  • Recipe makes three smaller servings (about 1 cup) or 2 larger servings (about 1.5 cups).
