Quick and Easy Homemade Cheez Whiz
This homemade cheez whiz is rich, flavourful, and so easy to make. It’s made with real cheese and so much better than the store-bought version.

Ingredients
- 1 cup shredded cheddar cheese
- 2 oz cream cheese sliced
- 1/2 cup whole milk
- 1/4 teaspoon garlic powder
- 1/4 teaspoon onion powder
- 1/4 teaspoon mustard powder
- 1/4 teaspoon Turmeric (this will give your cheez whiz a nice orange color)
- 1/4 teaspoon kosher salt
- 1/4 teaspoon granulated sugar
- 1 teaspoon cornstarch
Instructions
- In a small mixing bowl, garlic powder, onion powder, mustard powder, turmeric, sugar, salt and cornstarch. Mix well.
- In a saucepan over medium low heat, add the milk and cream cheese.
- Bring to a simmer, whisking frequently, until the cream cheese has dissolved into the milk.
- Add the seasoning mixture into the cream cheese mixture. Continue to cook for about a minute or until it thickens.
- Remove from heat and stir in the shredded cheese.
- Fold the cheese into the hot liquid until completely melted. Serve and enjoy!
