Restaurant-Style Mexican Black Beans
Restaurant-Style Mexican Black Beans are flavored with sautéed onion, garlic, cumin, and optional cayenne pepper, simmered with canned black beans and their juices. The beans develop a soft texture and complex, smoky flavor typical of Mexican cuisine, finished with fresh cilantro for brightness. Adding lard or butter in the cooking process enriches richness and authenticity.

- 3 cloves garlic minced
- 1/2 teaspoon cumin ground
- 1/4 teaspoon cayenne pepper optional
- 2 (15 ounce cans) black beans undrained
