Rice Side Dishes: Fried Rice Recipe

Fried rice is an easy side dish that’s loaded with delicious vegetables and scrambled eggs. You can customize it by adding your favorite veggies and proteins.

Ingredients

  • 2 tablespoons vegetable oil
  • 2 tablespoons Garlic butter or butter
  • 4 cups cooked white rice chilled
  • 2 eggs beaten
  • 1 medium carrots peeled and chopped
  • 1 small white onion diced
  • 1 cup frozen peas
  • 2 green onions chopped
  • 3 tablespoons soy sauce
  • salt and pepper to taste
  • 2 teaspoons oyster sauce

Instructions

  1. Add 1 tablespoon of oil to a large non-stick skillet over medium-high heat. Once hot, add the egg and cook until scrambled. Transfer the egg to a separate plate and set aside
  2. Add 1 tablespoon of oil to the skillet and add carrots, onions, salt, and pepper.
  3. Stir-fry for about 5 minutes or until the vegetables are soft. Immediately add green onions, soy sauce and oyster sauce. Stir until combined.
  4. Add cooked rice and garlic butter. Continue sautéing for a few minutes.
  5. Add in the cooked eggs and stir to combine. Remove from heat. Taste and season with more salt if preferred. Serve and enjoy!
