Rum sour
This rum sour is easy to make, not too sweet and with a nice depth of flavor from the dark rum.
Ingredients
- 2 fl oz dark rum
- 1 fl oz lemon juice freshly squeezed
- ½ fl oz simple syrup or demerara, see notes, coconut sugar
- 2 dashes aromatic bitters ie Angostura or similar; or can use orange, optional
- 1 egg 1 egg white is approx 2 tbsp/30ml/1oz, white
Instructions
- Add rum, lemon juice, simple syrup, bitters and egg white to a cocktail shaker then shake well.
- Add plenty of ice, shake again then strain into a glass. Optionally, top with a couple extra drops of bitters.
Notes
- I'd suggest using a rocks glass for this but you can use other styles, as you prefer.
