Salt and Pepper Chicken Wings Recipe
Salt and Pepper Chicken Wings are oven-baked wings coated in olive oil, baking powder, and a mix of salt, black pepper, and garlic powder. Baking at a high temperature on a wire rack crisps the skin while keeping the meat tender. The wings are garnished with minced chives for a mild onion flavor and a fresh look.
Ingredients
- 2 lb chicken wings
- 2 tablespoons olive oil
- 1 tablespoon baking powder
- 2 teaspoons sea salt
- 2 teaspoons black pepper
- 1 teaspoon garlic powder
- chive for serving, minced
Instructions
- Preheat your oven to 425 degrees Fahrenheit. Line a baking sheet with parchment paper (for easy cleanup) and set a wire rack on top.
- Add the chicken wings to a large bowl and toss them with olive oil, baking powder, salt, pepper, and garlic powder.
- Spread the chicken wings out on top of the wire rack making sure that none of the chicken wings are touching
- Bake until they're golden and crispy, about 45 minutes. (See notes) Serve the chicken wings with some minced chives over top.
Notes
- Flipping the wings halfway through baking is optional but can yield a more evenly crispy skin.
