Salt and Pepper Chicken Wings Recipe

Salt and Pepper Chicken Wings are oven-baked wings coated in olive oil, baking powder, and a mix of salt, black pepper, and garlic powder. Baking at a high temperature on a wire rack crisps the skin while keeping the meat tender. The wings are garnished with minced chives for a mild onion flavor and a fresh look.

Description

This recipe involves tossing raw chicken wings in olive oil, baking powder to achieve crispness, and seasoning with sea salt, black pepper, and garlic powder for a balanced savory flavor. Placing the wings on a wire rack ensures even air circulation around the wings, promoting a crisp exterior without frying.

Baking at 425°F for about 45 minutes cooks the wings thoroughly and produces a golden-brown crust. The garlic powder adds mild aromatic depth without overpowering the simple salt and pepper seasoning. Topping with minced chives introduces a subtle fresh note and color contrast.

Flipping the wings halfway through is optional; while flipping can crisp the wings more evenly, it is not necessary. These wings work well served as an appetizer, snack, or part of a casual meal.

  2. Add the chicken wings to a large bowl and toss them with olive oil, baking powder, salt, pepper, and garlic powder.
  3. Spread the chicken wings out on top of the wire rack making sure that none of the chicken wings are touching
