Saltine Toffee
Saltine Toffee creates a crunchy, sweet treat by layering saltine crackers with a buttery brown sugar toffee, baked briefly, then topped with melted chocolate and optional nuts or sea salt. The saltines provide a crisp, slightly salty base that contrasts with the rich, fudgy toffee and smooth chocolate topping. This combination yields a textured candy that's easy to prepare and slice.

- 1 cup butter
- 1 cup dark brown sugar

Notes
- Use salted saltine crackers for the ideal balance of salty and sweet.
- Dark brown sugar intensifies the toffee’s caramel flavor but light brown sugar can be substituted with a milder taste.
- Bittersweet chocolate keeps the overall sweetness balanced compared to milk or semisweet varieties.
- Chill or freeze the toffee after baking and topping to ensure easier breaking and a firm texture.
