Sausage Cornbread Stuffing

Who all loves a big cut of some delicious cornbread? Maybe adding this as a side to your meal is a tradition. Well, how about we flip some switches and add a little twist to an incredible recipe. This unique and amazing Sausage Cornbread Stuffing may just become a new favorite in your household. The perfect side dish for your Thanksgiving dinner.

Ingredients

  • 1 small onion chopped
  • 2 talk celery chopped
  • 1 small green bell pepper chopped
  • 16 ounce roll breakfast sausage
  • 4 cups crumbled cornbread
  • 3 cups chicken broth
  • 1 egg
  • 2 tablespoons butter

Instructions

  1. In a large skillet over medium high heat melt your butter.
  2. Add the onion, celery and bell pepper to the pan and saute for 5 minutes.
  3. Add in your sausage and brown and crumble.
  4. Next add in the cornbread and stir everything together.
  5. Whisk the egg into the chicken stock.
  6. Pour the chicken stock mix evenly over the cornbread mix and stir everything to combine.
  7. Pour stuffing mix into a greased 9x13 and bake at 350 for 25 minutes.
  8. Serve!
