Ingredients

  • 2 tablespoons extra virgin olive oil
  • 2 tablespoons butter unsalted
  • 1 pound brown mushrooms sliced, or white mushrooms
  • 1 large onion sliced, sweet yellow
  • 2 cloves garlic minced
  • 1/2 teaspoon kosher salt
  • 1/2 teaspoon black pepper freshly ground
  • 1/2 teaspoon thyme dried

Instructions

    Cup of Yum
  1. Ad the olive oil and butter to a large skillet set over medium-high heat.
  2. Add the mushrooms to the pan, stir and saute for 4 to 5 minutes without disturbing.

Notes

  • Dried thyme can be substituted with Italian seasoning, basil, or herbs de Provence.
  • Add diced bell peppers during cooking for additional flavor and texture.
  • Store leftovers in a shallow airtight container in the refrigerator for 3-5 days.
  • For longer storage, freeze cooled mushrooms and onions in a freezer bag for up to 3 months and reheat from frozen on the stove over medium-high heat.
