Sautéed Mushrooms and Onions

Ingredients

  • 1½ tablespoon butter unsalted
  • 2 tablespoons olive oil
  • 1 pound cremini mushrooms sliced
  • ½ teaspoon salt divided in half
  • 1 sweet onion sliced
  • 1 lemon zested and juiced
  • 2 cloves garlic minced
  • ¼ cup vegetable broth low sodium
  • 1 tablespoon Worcestershire sauce

  1. In a large skillet, heat up the butter and oil over medium heat. Once the butter has melted, add the mushrooms along with ¼ teaspoon of salt.
  2. Cook the mushrooms, stirring occasionally, for 10 minutes. Add the sliced onions and ¼ teaspoon of salt. Cook for 8 minutes.
  3. Add the lemon zest, lemon juice, garlic, vegetable broth, and Worcestershire sauce to the skillet. Continue to cook for another 2 to 4 minutes or until most of the liquid has evaporated. Serve immediately or serve with some green onion as garnish.
