Sazon Seasoning Recipe

Ingredients

  • 1 1/2 tablespoons annatto powder , can substitute half paprika/half turmeric
  • 1 tablespoon crushed Mexican oregano , recommended for best authentic flavor but can substitute regular/Greek oregano
  • 1 tablespoon garlic powder
  • 1 tablespoon ground coriander
  • 1 tablespoon ground cumin
  • 2 teaspoons onion powder
  • 1 teaspoon freshly ground black pepper
  • 1 teaspoon Kosher or sea salt

Instructions

  1. Combine all the ingredients in a small bowl. Store in an airtight jar in a dark, cool place for up to six months. For optimal flavor use within 2 months. Shake before each use to redistribute the ingredients. This makes about 1/3 cup of seasoning.
