Ingredients

  • ¾ cups unsalted butter softened
  • ¼ cup shortening
  • 1 ½ cups granulated sugar
  • 2 eggs
  • 1 ½ teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 2 ½ cups flour
  • 1 box instant vanilla pudding
  • 1 teaspoon baking powder
  • ½ teaspoon salt
  • 70 Hershey Kisses milk chocolate or dark chocolate
  • 2 cups powdered sugar

Instructions

    Cup of Yum
  1. Beat the butter, shortening, and sugar with an electric mixer for 3 minutes until soft and creamy.
  2. Add the eggs, vanilla, and instant pudding mix to the mixing bowl. Continue mixing until completely combined.
  3. In a medium bowl, stir together the flour, baking powder, and salt.
  4. Add the dry ingredients to the butter mixture a little at a time. Mix between additions until all the flour is incorporated.
  5. Use a cookie scoop or spoon to form a dough ball about 1 1/2 tablespoons in size.
  6. Press a Hershey Kiss candy into the center and pinch the dough around the Kiss to form a cone-shaped dough ball. Repeat with all the dough.
  7. Put the balls of dough in the fridge to chill for at least 60 minutes before baking.
  8. Preheat the oven to 350 degrees F.
  9. Line a baking sheet with parchment paper or a silicone baking mat. Place the chilled dough balls on the baking sheet.
  10. Bake in the preheated oven for 12-15 minutes. The cookies are done when the middle is set, and they are and light golden brown around the edges.
  11. Let them cool on the baking sheet for 5 minutes before removing them to a wire rack.
  12. Put the powdered sugar in a bowl. While the cookies are still warm, roll them in the powdered sugar.
  13. Let them cool, then roll them in the powdered sugar again.

Notes

  • Use parchment paper or a silicone baking mat on the cookie sheets.
  • Roll in powdered sugar while the cookies are still warm and then again after they are cooled for a fun snowball look.
