Ingredients

  • ½ cup butter softened at room temperature
  • ½ cup powdered sugar (60 grams)
  • ½ teaspoon vanilla extract
  • ¼ teaspoon almond extract
  • 1 cup all-purpose flour (145 grams)
  • pinch of salt
  • 2 tablespoons jam of your choice

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 350°F.
  2. In a large bowl, use an electric hand mixer to beat together the butter and sugar. Add in the extracts and beat again.
  3. Stir in the flour and salt until well combined.
  4. Roll dough between your hands into 1 tablespoon-sized balls, and place each ball on a parchment-lined baking sheet. Use your thumb to make an indentation in the center of each ball.
  5. Fill each indentation with ½ teaspoon of jam.
  6. Place the pan in the freezer for 10 minutes to firm up the butter.
  7. Bake until the edges are just lightly browned, about 20 to 22 mins.
  8. Cool on the pan completely before serving.
