Shrimp Pakora

Ingredients

  • 200 g Shrimp Peeled and deveined
  • 100 g chickpea flour
  • 1 tsp baking powder
  • 1 tsp cumin powder
  • 1 tsp coriander powder
  • 1/2 tsp turmeric powder
  • 1/2 tsp chilli powder
  • 1/2 tsp salt
  • 1/4 tsp black pepper
  • 150 ml water
  • vegetable oil For frying

Instructions

  1. In a mixing bowl, combine chickpea flour, baking powder, ground cumin, ground coriander, turmeric powder, chili powder, salt, and black pepper.
  2. Gradually add water and whisk until you have a smooth, thick batter.
  3. Add the peeled and deveined shrimp to the batter, making sure they are well coated.
  4. Heat vegetable oil in a deep frying pan or a fryer to 180°C (350°F).
  5. Carefully drop the marinated shrimp into the hot oil one by one.
  6. Fry the shrimp pakoras until they turn golden brown and crispy, usually about 3-4 minutes.
  7. Remove the shrimp pakoras from the oil and place them on a plate lined with paper towels to drain excess oil.
  8. Serve hot with your favourite chutney or sauce.
