Ingredients

  • 1/8 teaspoon white pepper
  • 1 teaspoon monosodium glutamate optional
  • 3/4 teaspoon salt
  • 1/4 teaspoon onion salt
  • 1/4 cup salad oil
  • 1/4 cup water
  • 1 tablespoon wine vinegar
  • 1 cup mayonnaise
  • 1 cup sour cream
  • 2 ounces blue cheese

Instructions

  1. Mix all the spices with the salad oil and water.
  2. Blend in the vinegar, mayonnaise, and sour cream.
  3. Mash the blue cheese and stir into the dressing.

Notes

  • Use high-quality blue cheese such as Danish blue, Roquefort, or Gorgonzola for the best flavor.
  • Monosodium glutamate (MSG) is optional; the dressing tastes excellent without it.
  • Thin the dressing by adding 1 to 2 tablespoons of water if a thinner consistency is preferred.
  • For a stronger cheese flavor, increase the blue cheese quantity to 3 ounces.
  • Allow the dressing to chill overnight for flavors to fully develop and meld.
