Simple Hummus Recipe

Balanced, flavorful, and enjoyable—this recipe has it all.

Ingredients

  • 2 cans chickpeas
  • 1 clove garlic
  • 2-3 tablespoons olive oil
  • ½ teaspoon salt
  • ¼ cup water plus extra if needed

Instructions

  1. Remove the skins from the chickpeas by gently pinching them until the skin comes off. Discard the skins and reserve the chickpeas in a medium bowl.
  2. Place saved chickpeas in a food processor with garlic, olive oil, ¼ cup water, and salt. Process until very smooth, adding the remaining water one tablespoon at a time if the mixture is too sticky to move through the processor. Once the texture begins to smooth out and moves easier in the processor, you can slowly add a little more olive oil to render it creamier.
  3. Adjust the seasoning as necessary, then serve with hummus chips and enjoy!
