Ingredients

  • 1 Tbsp. oil olive or avocado
  • 3 Tbsp. butter salted
  • 16 oz. mushrooms white, sliced
  • 2 cloves garlic finely minced
  • ½ tsp. salt to taste
  • ¼ tsp. black pepper to taste

Instructions

    Cup of Yum
  1. Add oil and 1 tablespoon butter to a large skillet over medium-high heat. Once butter is melted, add the sliced mushrooms in a single layer and cook for 4-5 minutes without moving. Flip them over and continue cooking for another 3-4 minutes.
  2. Make a well in the center and add remaining 2 tablespoons butter and garlic. Saute for 30 seconds, or until garlic is fragrant. Add salt and pepper, to taste, reduce heat to medium-low, and continue cooking the mushrooms for another 4-5 minutes, stirring occasionally.
  3. Serve immediately with a sprinkle of finely chopped fresh parsley, if desired. Enjoy!

Notes

  • How to prep ahead of time: These mushrooms are best enjoyed fresh. But, you can buy whole mushrooms and slice them up to 1 to 2 days ahead of time.
  • How to store: Keep leftover mushrooms in an airtight container in the refrigerator for up to 4 to 5 days.
  • How to freeze: While raw mushrooms don't freeze well due to their moisture content, cooked mushrooms can be frozen. Allow them to cool completely in the fridge, then store them in a freezer-safe bag or container for up to 5 to 6 months.
  • How to reheat: For the best results, warm the mushrooms back up in a skillet over medium heat.
