Skillet Cookie with Chocolate Chips

This easy to make skillet cookie is soft, and gooey, with melty chocolate chips, and goes really well with vanilla ice cream.

Ingredients

  • ½ cup butter
  • ⅓ cup granulated sugar
  • ⅓ cup brown sugar
  • 1 egg
  • ½ teaspoon vanilla
  • 1-1½ cups all purpose flour
  • ½ teaspoon baking soda
  • 1 cup milk chocolate chips divided

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 350℉ and make sure your skillet is well oiled or greased on the inside.
  2. Cream together the butter and sugars, then stir in the egg and vanilla until smooth.
  3. Add the dry ingredients, except for the chocolate chips, and stir until well combined and feels like cookie dough.
  4. Stir in half of the chocolate chips, then move all of the dough to your skillet and gently press down into the shape of the skillet.
  5. Sprinkle the rest of the chocolate chips on top.
  6. Bake for 25-30 minutes, or until golden on the entire top of the cookie. Let set for 5 minutes and then use a toothpick to check to make sure it is completely done. Then let cool for another 5 to 10 minutes before enjoying some with vanilla ice cream!

Notes

  • Store at room temperature, covered, for 2-3 days.
