Slow Cooker Beef Tips Recipe

Ingredients

  • 2-3 pounds beef tips chuck roast or stew meat
  • 1 ½ cups beef broth
  • 1 can French Onion Soup 10.5 ounces
  • 2 tablespoons Worcestershire sauce 
  • 2 cloves garlic minced
  • 1 envelope brown gravy mix
  • 2 tablespoons ketchup
  • 3 tablespoons cornstarch
  • 3 tablespoons cold water

  1. Make sure the meat is diced into bite-size beef cubes. Add the beef tips, broth, French onion soup, Worcestershire sauce, minced garlic, brown gravy mix, and ketchup to your slow cooker.
  2. Stir everything together and cover.
  3. Cook on low for 5-6 hours.
  4. Before serving, whisk together the cornstarch and cold water into a slurry. Stir it into the cooked beef tips to thicken the gravy mixture. Let it cook for 5-10 minutes to thicken slightly.

Notes

  • Store leftovers in the fridge for up to 3 days.
  • Add fresh onion or mushrooms when you add the beef if you like.
  • Serve this over rice, mashed potatoes, or egg noodles.
  • Use beef chuck, beef stew meat, or other inexpensive cuts of meat.
  • Store leftovers in the fridge for up to 3 days.
  • You can cook on high for 4 hours if you prefer, although I think it comes out more tender on low.
