Ingredients

  • 1 1/2 pounds peanuts raw, in-shell, not roasted!
  • water
  • 3 tablespoons salt
  • 1 tablespoon creole seasoning (optional - basically a mix of salt, different peppers, garlic and other spices)
  • 1 teaspoon crushed red pepper

Instructions

    Cup of Yum
  1. Thoroughly rinse peanuts and then place in the bottom of the slow cooker. Fill with water about three-quarters of the way to the top. The peanuts will float at this point.
  2. Sprinkle the salt and other seasonings on top. Turn slow cooker to high and cook for 6 to 7 hours, stirring occasionally to mix in the floating peanuts on the top.
  3. Drain and serve warm or refrigerate for up to 4 or 5 days. Great to have on hand for hungry house guests!
