Slow Cooker Boiled Peanuts

This Southern roadside treasure is super easy to make at home in your slow cooker and would be a fun one to introduce to family and friends.

Ingredients
- 1 1/2 pounds peanuts raw, in-shell, not roasted!
- water
- 3 tablespoons salt
- 1 tablespoon creole seasoning (optional - basically a mix of salt, different peppers, garlic and other spices)
- 1 teaspoon crushed red pepper

Instructions
- Thoroughly rinse peanuts and then place in the bottom of the slow cooker. Fill with water about three-quarters of the way to the top. The peanuts will float at this point.
- Sprinkle the salt and other seasonings on top. Turn slow cooker to high and cook for 6 to 7 hours, stirring occasionally to mix in the floating peanuts on the top.
- Drain and serve warm or refrigerate for up to 4 or 5 days. Great to have on hand for hungry house guests!
