Ingredients

  • ½ gallon milk whole
  • 8 ounces white chocolate baking bars broken up into small pieces, Ghiradelli brand
  • ½ cup candy canes crushed (see note)
  • ½ teaspoon vanilla
  • Whipped Cream for garnish

Instructions

  1. Add the milk, white chocolate, crushed candy canes, and vanilla to a 5-quart or larger slow cooker.
  2. Cover and cook on HIGH for 1 hour and 30 minutes. Stir every 15 minutes.
  3. Pour hot chocolate into mugs and top with whipped cream and crushed candy canes for garnish. Serve warm.

Notes

  • Crush candy canes finely enough to measure 1/2 cup, reserving extras for garnish.
  • Starlight peppermint candies can be used as an alternative to candy canes.
  • Stir the mixture every 15 minutes during slow cooking to prevent chocolate settling or scorching.
  • Add whipped cream and crushed candy canes as toppings just before serving for best texture.
