Slow Cooker Candy Cane White Hot Chocolate
Description
The Slow Cooker Candy Cane White Hot Chocolate uses broken white chocolate baking bars melted into whole milk in a slow cooker for a gently heated, creamy base. Crushed candy canes added during cooking provide a peppermint flavor that enhances the sweetness of the white chocolate. Vanilla extract rounds out the flavor profile. The slow cook method stirs every 15 minutes ensures smoothness without scorching the milk or chocolate. Serving with whipped cream and more crushed candy canes adds richness and a decorative touch.
This warm drink fits well with holiday events or a relaxing winter night. The peppermint notes from the candy canes give a festive edge, while the white chocolate creates a rich, velvety texture compared to traditional hot chocolate. It can be served in mugs for an inviting presentation.
Crushing candy canes in advance makes measuring simpler and creates a coarse texture that melts evenly. Substituting starlight peppermint candies is possible if candy canes are unavailable. Stirring regularly during slow cooking is important to prevent settling or burning of the mixture. Whipped cream topping should be added just before serving to maintain its texture.
