Slow Cooker Teriyaki Chicken
This Slow Cooker Teriyaki Chicken features chicken breasts cooked gently in teriyaki sauce until tender enough to shred into large chunks. The chicken soaks up the savory, slightly sweet sauce during the slow cooking process. After shredding, the chicken is mixed back into the sauce for a consistently flavorful dish with tender, moist pieces of chicken.
Ingredients
- 700 g chicken breast
- 8 portion teriyaki sauce homemade
Instructions
- Make the teriyaki sauce.
- Put the chicken breasts into a slow cooker and cover with the teriyaki sauce. Cook on high for 4 hours.
- Once cooked, remove the chicken and shred into large chunks. Return the chicken to the sauce, mix well and serve.
Notes
- A good quality store-bought teriyaki sauce can be used as a time-saving alternative to homemade sauce.
- If the chicken seems dry, prepare extra sauce and drizzle over the dish at serving, but use sparingly because the sauce is salty.
- Shred the cooked chicken into large chunks rather than finely pulling it to maintain texture and moisture.
