Slow Cooker Teriyaki Chicken

This Slow Cooker Teriyaki Chicken features chicken breasts cooked gently in teriyaki sauce until tender enough to shred into large chunks.   • 700 g chicken breast
  • 8 portion teriyaki sauce homemade

  1. Make the teriyaki sauce.
  2. Put the chicken breasts into a slow cooker and cover with the teriyaki sauce. Cook on high for 4 hours.
  3. Once cooked, remove the chicken and shred into large chunks. Return the chicken to the sauce, mix well and serve.

Notes

  • A good quality store-bought teriyaki sauce can be used as a time-saving alternative to homemade sauce.
  • If the chicken seems dry, prepare extra sauce and drizzle over the dish at serving, but use sparingly because the sauce is salty.
  • Shred the cooked chicken into large chunks rather than finely pulling it to maintain texture and moisture.
