Smash Burger Tacos
Smash Burger Tacos combine thinly pressed ground beef cooked directly on flour tortillas with melted American cheese and classic toppings like shredded iceberg lettuce, diced onion, and pickles. The addition of a simple 321 sauce blends mayonnaise, ketchup, and mustard to add creamy, tangy notes. Toasted sesame seeds finish the tacos, adding a subtle crunch.
Ingredients
- 1 lb ground beef (80/20)
- 4 flour tortillas I use the Fajita style size
- 1 tsp seasoning salt or Taco Seasoning
- 4 lices American cheese
Toppings
- 1 head iceberg lettuce
- 1/2 yellow onion diced, medium
- 1/2 cup dill pickles diced
- sesame seeds toasted
321 Sauce
- 3 tbsp mayonnaise
- 2 tbsp ketchup
- 1 tbsp yellow mustard
Instructions
- Divide the ground beef into 4 pieces. Press each portion on the top of each tortillas, spreading to edges. Season with either all-purpose seasoning or taco seasoning.
- Shred half of the iceberg lettuce, saving remaining for other use. Dice onion and pickles and place all in separate bowls.
- In a small bowl whisk together the 321 sauce. Set aside.
- In a skillet over medium-high heat place the tortilla meat side down for 4 minutes. Check for doneness, cook longer if desired. Flip with spatula, top with slice of cheese, cover with lid and turn off heat. Let sit 1 minute.
- Remove from pan and top with shredded lettuce, onion, pickles, sauce and sesame seeds. Fold up and eat taco-style.
